Who we are

Good Future Media (“we”, “us”) is a media agency that produces short-form video content from podcasts and publishes it to social platforms on behalf of our clients and our own channels. Our legal entity is Good Future Media, LLC, 743 Scheffer Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55102. Questions about this policy: privacy@goodfuturemedia.com.

What this policy covers

This policy describes the data handled by our internal analytics tools, which connect to social platforms through their official developer interfaces:

  • TikTok (via TikTok for Developers, Login Kit and Display API)
  • Facebook and Instagram (via the Meta Graph API)
  • YouTube (via YouTube API Services)
  • X (via the X API)

These tools exist for one purpose: to read performance data about content published to accounts that we operate, and to record that data in our internal reporting system.

Whose data we handle

We only access data from accounts that have explicitly authorized our tools. Those accounts are either owned by Good Future Media or operated by us on behalf of clients who have authorized that access.

We do not offer a public app. No member of the public logs in to our tools. We do not collect data about the individual viewers, followers, or commenters of any account.

What we collect

For each authorized account, we read:

  • Account profile information: username, display name, profile picture, bio, and aggregate counts of followers, following, likes, and videos.
  • Content performance metrics: for each post we published, its view, like, comment, and share counts, its publish date, its title or caption, and its thumbnail or cover image URL.

We also store the access credentials each platform issues to us so that our tools can keep reading this data without repeated manual authorization.

How we use it

  • To measure how the content we produce performs across platforms.
  • To report that performance to the client whose account it is.
  • To compensate the editors and directors on our team, some of whose pay is tied to content performance.
  • To decide which content to produce more of.

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to reporting on content we published.

Where it is stored and for how long

Performance data is stored in Airtable, a hosted database service, in a workspace controlled by us. Access credentials are stored as encrypted configuration within our hosting provider, Render, and are never written into source code.

We retain performance data for as long as we operate the account it relates to, because historical performance is the basis of our reporting. We delete it on request as described below.

Who we share it with

We do not sell this data and do not share it with third parties for their own use. It is visible to:

  • our team members who need it to do their work;
  • the client who owns the account the data relates to;
  • the service providers that host our systems (Airtable and Render), who process it only to provide those services.

Platform terms

Our use of each platform’s data is governed by that platform’s developer terms, including the TikTok Developer Terms of Service, the Meta Platform Terms, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and the X Developer Agreement. Our tools use YouTube API Services; by authorizing them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access and requesting deletion

You can revoke our tools’ access to your account at any time from the platform itself:

  • TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services.
  • Facebook / Instagram: Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
  • YouTube / Google: myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps with account access.
  • X: Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions.

Revoking access stops all further data collection immediately.

To have data we already hold deleted, email privacy@goodfuturemedia.com from an address associated with the account and name the account. We will delete the associated performance data and credentials within 30 days and confirm by email. If you are a client, note that deleting this data removes our ability to report on the content we produced for you.

Security

Access credentials are held only in our hosting provider’s secret configuration, restricted to the services that need them. Access to our reporting workspace is limited to team members who require it, and is removed when they leave.

Children

Our tools are not directed at, and do not knowingly collect data relating to, anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how we handle this data we will update this page and its effective date.
